Description: Tenara Sewing Thread is engineered for high speed sewing applications, such as in awning production. It has better sewability due to its lower modulus (it stretches more and is easier on your sewing machine).
Features: PTFE is unaffected by ultraviolet radiation and will not degrade from continuous sun exposure. Other threads lose up to 35% of their strength in a 3 year period. It is unaffected by saltwater, temperature extremes and acid rain. Colors will not fade. PTFE is one of the most chemically resistant substances known to man. This ensures it will not rot or mildew and prevents deterioration due to cleaning solutions, motor oils and other destructive substances. Temperature range -350 F to 450F 100% Expanded PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene, chemical name for Teflon). Expanded PTFE is 2-3 times stronger than conventional PTFE. Break Strength is 8-10 Lbs. Yield is 1,900 yards/spool) Typical Needle Selection is #18 or MR4 The TEX for this product is "92" Tenara thread has slightly lower initial breaking strength than conventional polyester sewing threads but does not deteriorate from exposure to environment.
